Rust Shotgun Trap

Weapons are key to survival as they provide the player with basic offensive and defensive capabilities. Players may find weapons in Airdrops and Attack Helicopters, and can also craft them after gathering all the required resources for each weapon. Weapons in Rust have a variety of different applications in different scenarios. Some weapons favor up-close action, whereas others may perform better at a distance. Projectile weapons differ from each other with factors such as accuracy, range, rate of fire and damage.

Shotgun traps are a great way to delay raiders and buy you or other defenders time to repair or hold off the raiders. So far a dropdown trap seems really hard to deal with and might be the best way to abuse shotgun traps. When placing shotgun traps, be aware that a single shot from a trap rarely kills. So, depending on placement, one might easily be able to just walk through the shotgun trap. So, either force the enemy to walk slowly through the range of the shotgun or place multiple traps so that there is no safe spot.

  • The only way to destroy shotgun traps in a drop down fast that i know of is to jump down with a rocket launcher and incen rockets and just jump down and shoot the incen rocket. Its a suicide method but the best one i know ( not really recommended if ur a solo doing a online raid).

The Shotgun Trap is a type of defensive trap that can be placed on building pieces, such as walls, ceilings, and floors. If within the range of a Tool Cupboard, the Shotgun Trap will fire at anyone who passes in front of it who is not authorized to that tool cupboard. This makes it ideal for defending individual Tool Cupboards. If not within range of a Tool Cupboard, it will fire upon anyone who passes in front of it. It fires two shots (Handmade Shells) a second and can hold up to 384 shots, meaning it can fire for 192 seconds non-stop, or 3 minutes and 12 seconds non-stop. Generally, it will instantly kill anyone, even with armor, unless they run past the trap in a specific way. It is very rare that someone goes into a Wounded state upon being shot by a shotgun trap. The Shotgun Trap has 300 health, and is relatively easy to destroy with explosives or via firing around a corner.
